Sarah Garton Stanley

Stratford: Creative consultant of Richard II, director of Bunny. Elsewhere: SGS is the Artistic Producer for the National Creation Fund at Canada’s National Arts Centre. She co-founded FOLDA, Spiderwebshow, Baby Grand Theatre, Women Making Scenes, and Die in Debt Theatre. SGS is a former AD of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre and an associate AD at English Theatre (NAC). Over her award-winning career, SGS co-led the directing program at NTS, was the first Artistic Associate for Magnetic North Theatre Festival and was associate AD at Factory Theatre in Toronto. Originally from Montréal, SGS now lives on unceded Mikmaki territory in Southwest Nova Scotia, where she co-stewards Birchdale, a historic off-grid retreat, with partner Tracey Erin Smith.
