Stratford: Friar Laurence in Romeo and Juliet, Don Armado in Love’s Labour’s Lost, Rufio in Caesar and Cleopatra, Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, Earl of Kent in King Lear. Other notable roles at the Festival include Benedick (Much Ado About Nothing), Pastor Manders (Ghosts), Timon (Timon of Athens), Antony (Antony and Cleopatra), George (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?), Petruchio (The Taming of the Shrew), Claudius (Hamlet), both Edgar and Kent (King Lear), Malvolio (Twelfth Night) and Jamie (Long Day’s Journey Into Night). Stratford musicals include Hello, Dolly!, Into the Woods, The Threepenny Opera and Guys and Dolls. Film/TV: Long Day’s Journey Into Night, for which he was awarded the Genie for Best Supporting Actor, and The Sweet Hereafter. On television, Mr. Donaldson played Ian Bowles on the series Emily of New Moon.
