Michael Langham
Stratford: Director of Love’s Labour’s Lost and There Reigns Love. Michael Langham was the second artistic director of this Festival, succeeding Tyrone Guthrie in 1955. During his 12-year tenure, the original tent was transformed into the existing theatre, and the acting company grew in stature to international recognition. Despite an extensive career in both Britain and the United States, he often returned during subsequent years to stage plays at Stratford.
