
Janice Owens
Stratford: Music administrator for the Stratford Festival; trombone for Annie, tenor and bass trombones for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Festival Theatre fanfares. Spurning advice to learn the clarinet, Janice made her start on a third-hand trombone at age 10. Since then, she has enjoyed playing in numerous musical theatre productions in Stratford, Toronto, and Washington, DC, as well as performing with the Canadian Opera Company, National Ballet Orchestra, Hamilton Philharmonic, and many others. As a member of the Washington, DC–based Monumental Brass Quintet, she played on 13 tours for the Columbia Artists’ Concert Series across 48 states in the U.S., the White House and at the Kennedy Center.
