Brad Canning
Stratford: Musician in Twelfth Night. Elsewhere: A multi-instrumentalist, Brad began his career at age 12, playing drums on a tour of Newfoundland with a Southern gospel-style group. He has shared the stage with such big names as Ron Sexsmith, Wide Mouth Mason, Jim Cuddy (Blue Rodeo), The Guess Who and Jordan John. He has opened for such great Canadian artists as Jack de Keyzer (2003 Blues Artist of the Year), Valdy (Country Male Vocalist of the Year and Folksinger of the Year), producer/singer/songwriter/guitarist Colin Linden, David Francis and Jimmy Bowskill. He has on many occasions accompanied one of his favourite artists and friends, Juno-nominated Dayna Manning, and gave private guitar instruction to pop superstar Justin Bieber for his YouTube video of “Cry Me a River.” Recordings: Brad recorded his first LP, Take a Chance, in 2006.
