The Early Modern Cooking Show

From the strawberries in Richard III to the funeral baked meats in Hamlet, food pops up in many of Shakespeare's plays. Stratford Festival Executive Chef Kendrick Prins is joined in the kitchen by actor Qasim Khan, with expert commentary by University of Toronto professor of food studies Jeffrey Pilcher, to prepare dishes mentioned in or inspired by Shakespeare's plays. Actors Alexis Gordon, Jessica B. Hill and Kevin Kruchkywich visit local food and drink purveyors for ingredients and advice.
